Trenchless Repair Specialist

The Technology Behind Our No-Dig Repairs

Bluelight LED lining is the equipment that makes our trenchless repairs and relining work possible — curing a new pipe wall in place in minutes, not hours.

Most of our trenchless repairs and relining jobs share one thing in common: the equipment doing the curing. Bluelight is the LED light-curing system we use to turn a resin-saturated liner into a hard, structural new pipe wall inside your existing pipe. It's not a separate repair in itself — it's the technology that sits behind our relining and trenchless services, and it's worth understanding on its own terms.

What's included. Bluelight uses LED heads operating at a specific blue-light wavelength (450nm) to trigger a photo-initiator built into the resin, curing the liner from the inside out. The system carries an integrated camera, so the liner can be inspected before curing starts, and it records the curing parameters for every job as it runs.

Why customers choose Flux Sewer for this. We invested in Bluelight because it's a genuine step up from older heat-cured or ambient-cure systems: curing is faster, more consistent, and there's no resin odour left behind on site. It's the same equipment underpinning our relining and trenchless repair work, so when you book either of those services, this is what's doing the job.

How the process works. Once a liner has been inserted into the damaged section of pipe — whether that's part of a relining job or a trenchless repair — the Bluelight LED head is passed through it. The onboard camera lets our technician check the liner is correctly positioned before curing begins, then the LED head cures the resin in place as it moves through the pipe, forming a new structural wall bonded to the inside of the old one.

Who this service is for. Anyone booking a drain relining or trenchless repair with us benefits from this technology automatically — you don't need to request it separately. It's most relevant if you're comparing quotes and want to understand why our cured-in-place repairs are quicker and less disruptive than repairs using older curing methods.

Our approach. We don't push Bluelight lining as suitable for every job — it depends on what our CCTV survey finds. Where it is suitable, you get a faster repair with a lower environmental footprint than heat-cured alternatives, backed by a free quotation and our fully insured team.

Key Benefits

  • Cures a full structural liner in minutes rather than hours
  • Odour-free, low-emission resin system — no lingering smell on site
  • Integrated camera checks the liner before curing begins
  • Consistent, recorded curing parameters for every job
  • Suitable for pipe diameters from 70mm up to 600mm
  • Lower environmental footprint than traditional heat-cured lining

How It Works

01

CCTV survey

We assess the pipe and confirm a cured-in-place liner is the right method before quoting.

02

Liner insertion

A resin-saturated liner is introduced into the damaged section using the relining or trenchless method being carried out.

03

Camera check

The Bluelight LED head's integrated camera verifies the liner is correctly positioned before curing starts.

04

LED curing

The LED head cures the resin in place at 450nm, forming a hard structural pipe wall as it passes through the liner.

What Our Customers Say

“Reliable, well-intentioned, friendly service, fair costs with specialist knowledge, up-to-date gear and technology equipment. Highly recommended.”

“I'm just finishing off a ten year refurb of my 1850s cottage, so I have some experience with engaging contractors to handle the jobs I can't/am not allowed to. It seems to be rare these days to find businesses that are at the same time competent, prompt, flexible, efficient, tidy and reasonably priced. I'm happy to say that this was the case with Flux Sewer – Ben and his team went out of their way to accommodate my wishes as they constructed a new drain for my property. I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone who needs any drainage work done.”

Rob Buttress

“I don't give out 5* lightly. Fantastic service from 2 honest blokes. Fast, efficient, and actually came in cheaper than the quote. Ben decided that some of the work I had asked for a quote on didn't need doing. Both the guys who came were polite, well-spoken and friendly. My drain was repaired quickly and cleanly, and as I said, cheaper than the original quote, which was already considerably cheaper than the quote I had from another company. I would highly recommend Ben and Flux Sewer Ltd.”

Richard Hallett

“Really professional and efficient service. The issue I had was a long term problem that the former owner of my property had employed numerous companies to address but never resolved. Flux diagnosed the issue, fixed the problem then spent time mapping and clearing out the damaged pipes so an ongoing maintenance routine can be implemented to manage an issue that will always exist, but can now be controlled by simple routine procedures. I am really happy with the outcome and will now use the Flux team again to help manage the rest of my complex Georgian water supply and drainage system.”

Neil Emery

“The service we received was excellent. The team were very efficient, friendly and informative. Left the site clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend Flux Sewer Ltd.”

Details of the problem and what needed to be done was explained clearly, found them very friendly and reassuring, leaving the area clean and tidy, and the price was very reasonable. Ben and his team made good the bad work a previous company had done. We would not hesitate to recommend Flux Sewer.”

Andy King

“We had an issue with our drains backing up due to a reduction in the size of the soil pipe, as it's an older property. Ben came out and surveyed the pipe work with his camera, before returning and replacing a length of pipe and benching the manhole. He always arrived when he said he would. Very polite, worked quickly and efficiently, and the cost of the repair was reasonable. Very pleased.”

Curious how LED curing works on your pipe?

We'll confirm suitability with a CCTV survey before recommending it.

Common Questions About Blue Light LED Lining Technology

No — it's the curing technology used within those services. If you book a relining or trenchless repair with us, Bluelight LED curing is typically the equipment carrying it out.

Heat-cured liners rely on hot water or steam and can take hours to cure. Bluelight's LED heads cure the resin in minutes, with no odour and a more consistent result, since the process is recorded and controlled rather than judged by feel.

The system covers pipe diameters from roughly 70mm up to 600mm, which covers the vast majority of domestic and light commercial drainage runs we work on.

The cured liner forms a genuine structural pipe wall bonded to the inside of the original pipe. We don't quote a specific warranty period, but it's designed as a long-term structural repair, not a temporary fix.

You don't need to ask for it by name. Once a CCTV survey confirms your pipe is suitable for a cured-in-place repair, we'll use this technology as standard where it's the right fit — it's included in your free quotation, not an optional extra.
