Root ingress removed from a damaged sewer pipe during a repair

Trenchless Repair Specialist

Drain & Sewer Repairs, Plymouth

Cracked pipes, collapsed drains, root ingress, or corroded joints — we diagnose the defect and repair it using professional equipment and modern drainage technology.

Drain and sewer defects rarely have one single cause. It might be years of ground movement cracking a joint, tree roots forcing their way into a seam, or simple age causing rust and limescale to build up inside older pipework. Whatever the cause, the result is usually the same: a drain that's not performing as it should, and a problem that will keep getting worse if it's left alone.

Flux Sewer diagnoses and repairs these defects using professional equipment, choosing the repair method that actually matches the damage — rather than a one-size-fits-all fix.

What's included. This service covers diagnosis and repair of a wide range of drain and sewer defects, including cracked and collapsed drains, rust or limescale build-up, root ingress, and displaced or open joints. We use professional equipment to assess the extent of the damage and carry out the appropriate repair.

Why customers choose Flux Sewer for this. With over 10 years of industry experience, we've seen the full range of ways a drain or sewer can fail, and we bring that experience to how we diagnose and fix each one. Where the damage allows, we'll use trenchless methods to avoid excavation; where a defect genuinely requires more extensive work, we'll tell you honestly rather than promise a no-dig fix that won't hold.

How the process works. We typically start with a CCTV survey to establish the type and extent of the defect. From there, we provide a free quotation for the appropriate repair — whether that's a trenchless solution, a patch repair, or another method suited to the specific damage found.

Who this service is for. This service suits homeowners and property owners dealing with a diagnosed drain or sewer defect, including older properties affected by root ingress, rust, or limescale, and anyone who needs a genuine repair rather than a temporary clear-out.

Our approach. We're fully insured, use modern repair technology, and provide a free quotation before any work begins, so you know exactly what's being fixed and how.

What Our Customers Say

“Reliable, well-intentioned, friendly service, fair costs with specialist knowledge, up-to-date gear and technology equipment. Highly recommended.”

“I'm just finishing off a ten year refurb of my 1850s cottage, so I have some experience with engaging contractors to handle the jobs I can't/am not allowed to. It seems to be rare these days to find businesses that are at the same time competent, prompt, flexible, efficient, tidy and reasonably priced. I'm happy to say that this was the case with Flux Sewer – Ben and his team went out of their way to accommodate my wishes as they constructed a new drain for my property. I would unreservedly recommend them to anyone who needs any drainage work done.”

Rob Buttress

“I don't give out 5* lightly. Fantastic service from 2 honest blokes. Fast, efficient, and actually came in cheaper than the quote. Ben decided that some of the work I had asked for a quote on didn't need doing. Both the guys who came were polite, well-spoken and friendly. My drain was repaired quickly and cleanly, and as I said, cheaper than the original quote, which was already considerably cheaper than the quote I had from another company. I would highly recommend Ben and Flux Sewer Ltd.”

Richard Hallett

via Google

“Really professional and efficient service. The issue I had was a long term problem that the former owner of my property had employed numerous companies to address but never resolved. Flux diagnosed the issue, fixed the problem then spent time mapping and clearing out the damaged pipes so an ongoing maintenance routine can be implemented to manage an issue that will always exist, but can now be controlled by simple routine procedures. I am really happy with the outcome and will now use the Flux team again to help manage the rest of my complex Georgian water supply and drainage system.”

Neil Emery

“The service we received was excellent. The team were very efficient, friendly and informative. Left the site clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend Flux Sewer Ltd.”

Sally Emmerton

Details of the problem and what needed to be done was explained clearly, found them very friendly and reassuring, leaving the area clean and tidy, and the price was very reasonable. Ben and his team made good the bad work a previous company had done. We would not hesitate to recommend Flux Sewer.”

Andy King

“We had an issue with our drains backing up due to a reduction in the size of the soil pipe, as it's an older property. Ben came out and surveyed the pipe work with his camera, before returning and replacing a length of pipe and benching the manhole. He always arrived when he said he would. Very polite, worked quickly and efficiently, and the cost of the repair was reasonable. Very pleased.”

Alan Tobey

“Flux Sewer did an excellent job of relining our pitch fibre pipe without undue fuss. James and Ryan were a pleasure to have working for us — they were polite, cheerful and highly professional in constantly letting us know what was happening. They also left the site clean and tidy. In the run up to the work, Ben was very good at staying in touch — arranging the job couldn't have been easier. Having done some research, their price was very reasonable considering the complexity of the process and the high-end kit used. Not forgetting how much digging up the pipe would have been avoided! I can highly recommend Flux Sewer if you need pitch fibre pipe relining — you won't be disappointed.”

Dealing with a cracked or collapsed drain?

We'll diagnose the exact cause and quote for the right repair, free of charge.

Common Questions About Drain & Sewer Repairs

Tree and shrub roots naturally seek out moisture and can force their way into small cracks or joints in a drain over time, eventually causing blockages or structural damage.

Yes, over time rust and limescale build-up in older pipework can restrict flow and weaken the pipe. We assess the extent of this during our diagnosis and recommend the right repair.

Not necessarily — the right repair depends on the extent of the collapse, which we assess with a CCTV survey. Where possible, we'll use trenchless methods rather than a full dig-up.

It comes down to what the CCTV survey shows. We recommend trenchless and no-dig methods wherever the defect suits them, and we're upfront when a more extensive traditional repair is genuinely needed.
